Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what your choices are.
Overview
Stacksmesh LLC ("Stacksmesh," "we") is a Wyoming-registered engineering and design partner with a small, globally distributed team. This policy describes what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what your choices are.
We collect the minimum needed to run the business — there is no advertising network, no third-party analytics dragnet, and no data sold to anyone, ever.
What we collect
- Contact information you submit through the contact form, the audit checkout, the writing subscription, or by emailing us directly. This is typically: name, work email, company, and the message you sent.
- Payment information handled exclusively by Stripe when you pay for an audit. We do not store card numbers — Stripe does. We receive a record of the transaction.
- Engagement working data during a project — code, designs, documents, and credentials you share with us. This data is treated under the engagement's NDA and deleted on request after the engagement closes.
- Operational logs — server logs, error traces, and basic page-view counts. No third-party trackers, no fingerprinting.
How we use it
- To respond to inquiries and run engagements you've hired us for.
- To send the writing subscription emails you opted in to. Nothing else.
- To bill you correctly and meet legal and tax obligations.
- To improve our work — diagnose errors, fix bugs, and tighten posture.
Third parties
- Stripe — payment processing for the audit.
- Cal.com — discovery call scheduling.
- Cloudflare / AWS — hosting and infrastructure.
- Postmark or Resend — transactional email.
- Project-specific tools (GitHub, Linear, Notion) when an engagement requires them.
Retention & deletion
Contact form submissions are retained for two years and then deleted. Engagement working data is deleted on request after the engagement closes, or after seven years if not requested earlier — whichever comes first. Financial records are retained as required by law. Subscription emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can request a copy of any personal data we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent for the subscription at any time. Email privacy@stacksmesh.com and we'll respond within a business day.
